Resumen
Nanomaterial-based goods and commodities have captivated the attention of the media and the general public as one of our time's most significant technical accomplishments owing to their rapid advances in nanotechnology. Researchers are using a novel food packaging methods employing bionanocomposites, which include polysaccharides and proteins. New nanostructure material-based biopolymer film prototypes were developed and evaluated for culinary applications and regulatory compliance. For long-term food storage, several methods and composite materials have been employed against pathogens. Food packaging may use synthetic polymers generated from natural monomers instead of petroleum-based plastics. The public is concerned about the safety of employing nanostructured materials in food packaging applications. The use of nanotechnology in the food industry is rapidly growing. This chapter discusses all nanoparticles used in packaging, including safety issues and regulations.
