Resumen
A 49-year-old man was evaluated because of progressive dementia of subacute onset. Neuroimaging studies showed an ill-defined, enhancing lesion located at both frontal lobes with periventricular dissemination. These findings, together with the marked reduction in the size of the lesion as the result of corticosteroids administration, suggested the diagnosis of primary central nervous system lymphoma. This tumor was considered rare until recently; however, current evidence suggest that it will be the most common diagnosed neoplasm of the central nervous system in the next few years. The clinical and neuroimaging features of this tumor, as well as the most accepted therapeutic approaches are commented.
