Resumen
Introduction: Artificial Intelligence in education is currently one of the fundamental pillars for generating processes of pedagogical innovation. In this sense, the work analyzes the implications of incorporating AI into the socio-educational framework and its transformation of the educational environment. This phenomenon is referred to as the "fifth wave" of Artificial Intelligence, following the comments of Villalobos (2024) and Lee (2020). Methodology: A documentary-interpretative methodology is employed, considering relevant texts for the object of study. Results: Among the most notable results are: the reaffirmation of education as a determining process for social progress; the expansion of connectivism fostered by AI through its implications. Pedagogical innovation reaches its highest expressions due to this technology. Discussion: The research reaffirms the value of education as the foundation of society. The digital society is considered a liquid society, where the consequences of connectivism expand, serving as a fundamental basis for the use of AI and the transformation it generates. Conclusions: Pedagogical innovation has in the "fifth wave" of AI a fundamental pillar for its growth in the digital society.
