The role of local and international entrepreneurship in regional economic development: Evidence from a developing country.

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

Objective

To generate knowledge about the effect of entrepreneurship, in general, on regional economic development and then determine the specific effect of local versus international entrepreneurship in the context of a developing country. This knowledge will contribute to the literature linking entrepreneurship with economic development, an area where there is little evidence from developing countries, and where the heterogeneity of the entrepreneurial phenomenon has not been considered. The goal is to provide scientific arguments that policymakers can consider when promoting entrepreneurship that offers greater benefits to economic development or, alternatively, to identify the type of entrepreneurship that needs to improve its performance.
